EYE Celebrates The Best Creatives In Out-of-Home In Asia
22 Septembe 2009 - After three days of seminars, workshops, judging and networking, the inaugural Spikes Asia Festival culminated last Friday in a prestigious awards night at the historic Victoria Concert Hall.
Judged by leading international and regional creatives, the Spikes Awards honoured the best of Asian creativity in the categories of TV/Cinema, Print, Outdoor, Radio, Digital, Integrated, Direct & Sales Promotion, Media, Print Craft, TV/Cinema Craft and Design.
EYE was the exclusive sponsor of the Outdoor category, where 24 Gold, 33 Silver and 27 Bronze Spikes were awarded to top creative agencies in the region.
Dentsu Tokyo received the Outdoor Grand Prix for Uniqlo’s campaign ‘Human Vending Machine World Tour’, which promoted its moisture-absorbent heat-generating wear ‘HeatTech’.
Creative agencies that won Outdoor Gold Spikes were Ogilvy & Mather Bangkok, McCann Worldgroup Hong Kong, JWT Shanghai, JWT Singapore, ADK Tokyo, Y&R Thailand Bangkok, Hakuhodo Tokyo, BBDO/Proximity Malaysia and BBDO Bangkok.
“With 615 entries across 22 categories, the competition for metal in the Outdoor category was strong in a region that is known to excel in great Outdoor executions,” said Terry Savage, Chairman of Spikes Asia.
Agencies from Malaysia entered 97 pieces, making the country the largest competitor in the Outdoor category at the Festival. It was followed by China with 91, Thailand with 77, Singapore with 75, India with 71 and Japan with 55 entries.
