3 March 2010 – Spikes Asia Advertising Festival has announced its dates for this year’s event as 18-21 September 2010. The Festival will return to Suntec Singapore and will coincide with the week of the Singapore F1 Grand Prix, giving those who wish to attend the race the opportunity of staying on.

The presidents of the juries will be announced in the coming weeks. Innovations for 2010 will include:

Australia & New Zealand eligible to enter
Following consultation with the industry, Spikes Asia will once again welcome entry participation from Australia and New Zealand.

Young Spikes Media Competition
To complement the existing Young Spikes Integrated Competition, new to 2010 is the Young Spikes Media Competition, which will challenge teams to develop an innovative media strategy. The teams will work to a brief presented by a charity or non-profit organisation, whose name, objectives, strategies and target audience remain secret until they are disclosed at the briefing session. The competing teams will have to prepare their submission in the form of a short presentation which will then be presented to and judged by a panel of top media experts.

Young Marketers Registration
To encourage and support young professionals in the fields of marketing and communication working for marketing organisations and client companies, a reduced registration fee will be available allowing them to benefit from the unique learning opportunity Spikes Asia has to offer.

Terry Savage, Chairman of Cannes Lions, who, with Haymarket, publishers of Media and Campaign, organise the event, said, "Learning and inspiration are more critical now than ever before, and in the next few weeks we will be announcing more innovations for 2010 along with a great line-up of speakers and seminars. Following extensive consultation with the industry, we welcome back Australia and New Zealand into Spikes and we will continue to meet with the industry in the coming weeks to ensure the relevance of our programme to the market."

"Spikes Asia exceeded all our expectations in year one. The improvements that have been made for 2010 are as a direct result of constructive feedback from the industry. We are delighted with the level of interest in this year's event, especially the decision to coincide Spikes Asia with the Singapore F1 Grand Prix," commented Tim Waldron, Managing Director of Haymarket Media Asia.

The Spikes 2010 website www.spikes.asia will launch on 9 March.

Close to 1,000 delegates attended the 2009 Spikes Asia Advertising Festival partaking in an intense, and sometimes controversial, programme of seminars and interactive workshops presented by some of the finest regional and global creative thinkers. Nearly 3,000 entries from 21 countries were judged on site by top international and regional creatives and media professionals. An integrated young creative competition, exhibitions, screening kiosks, an array of networking opportunities, including the opening party, the fun Networking After Dark hosted by several top advertising agencies, and the After Party, which followed the awards ceremony on the final night of the Festival, are some of the activities enjoyed by participants.
