Shankar has 23 years of media & communications experience across Southeast Asia, China and India markets. He has led media strategy and planning for Mindshare’s global and local clients in industry sectors like CPG, Prestige beauty & fashion, Banking & finance, Auto and services building trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders over the years.
In his most recent stint as the CEO of Mindshare Vietnam from 2018-22, Shankar led a digital-first transformation of the office enabling Mindshare to solidify its market leadership position. He also worked together with his team to place Vietnam on the global stage with many industry award wins, including a place in the Top 10 rankings of WARC Media 100 for 2021 & 2022.
Shankar himself has been recognised as the 2019 Campaign Southeast Asia Office Leader of the Year and is most loved by his teams. In his words, his key skills are managing P&Ls, building client relationships and motivating people, though not necessarily in the same order of priority. All these with a healthy dose of resilience.
