Upon graduating Keio University, she attended London Film School, then started her directing career at Hakuhodo Products. There, she worked alongside agency creatives as TVC planner/director for global clients and their campaigns. She strives for clear and detailed communication throughout the production process, which attributes to her strong cinematographic delivery and execution, and brings together a sense of balance between logistical efficiency and the artistic approach.

Naoko has directed over 300 TVCs, films, branded contents, and music videos. Her past works as director and cinematographer has been awarded at Cannes Film Festival ‘Best European Shorts’, Hollywood Film Festival, Moondance Film Festival, Cairo International Film Festival, Tokyo Short Shorts Film Festival, Moving Pictures International Film Festival, Honolulu Film Festival, Fuji Sankei Group Advertising Award, Nihon Television Advertising Award, CCN Award, ACC Awards and many more.

In 2012, she set up her own company and took her career globally, traveling frequently to direct campaigns locally and for the Asia Pacific regions. She can execute a wide range of styles from beauty, emotional drama, comedy, and high fashion. She has also served as jury at global advertising festivals such as Cannes International Advertising Festival, Gerety Awards, AICP, Ciclope and BOVA.
