Virginia Hyland has been widely recognized as an industry pioneer and was named a Top 10 CEO in Australia in 2023.
Appointed Deputy Chair of the Media Federation of Australia, Virginia’s leadership has significantly shaped the media landscape. Her entrepreneurial journey began 15 years ago when she launched her own independent media agency, starting as a solo venture. Virginia's agency quickly rose to prominence, outpacing competitors and earning a reputation as one of the largest and most respected independent agencies in the industry.
In 2020, her agency was acquired by Havas Media Australia (now Havas Media Network). Recognizing her business acumen and leadership ability, Virginia was appointed CEO of Havas Media Network in November 2020. In this role, she successfully merged two agencies, spearheading innovative data and digital initiatives and working with both global and local blue-chip clients. Her contributions have included the launch of Havas PLAY, which focuses on smart data, content, and activation capabilities, as well as CSA Data, Modelling & Tech companies to address modern marketing needs.
Virginia's challenger mindset continues to draw top marketers, aligning them with Havas Media Network’s vision to develop full-funnel, results-driven campaigns that enhance brand visibility and influence. Her work with the Havas Media Network team has been recognized as groundbreaking, continually setting new standards in the industry.
Virginia’s influence extends beyond her work as CEO. She has been invited to judge and chair prestigious industry awards, including AWARD Media Thinking, Cannes Young Lions, D&AD, Women in Media, Agency Leader, Agency of the Year, and the Culture and Business awards.
