Biography
Puneet Kapoor is a storyteller and Chief Creative Officer at Ogilvy South India, with a career that spans New Delhi, Bombay, and now Bangalore. For over two decades, he has shaped, and been shaped by, Saatchi & Saatchi, Leo Burnett, McCann Worldgroup, BBH, Lowe Lintas, and Ogilvy; he also ran an independent agency with longtime partners, well before today’s wave of independents.
He believes creativity in advertising is art that must serve the business, and lives by a simple rule: ‘great work is 80% script and 80% execution.’ Mentors such as Piyush Pandey, Sir John Hegarty, John Cleese, and Prasoon Joshi helped hone his instincts for originality and courage.
Kapoor’s work ranges from the recent Titan Eye+ Eye Test Menu, now a Contagious case study and a magnet for Grand Prix, Golds, and Lions, to building brands like Titan Watches, Tanishq, Kingfisher, Unacademy, Swiggy, Coca‑Cola, Britannia, and ITC Foods.
His career is marked by honours at Cannes Lions, The One Show, D&AD, LIA, Clio, Spikes Asia, New York Festivals, Adfest and Kyoorius. In 2006, Campaign Brief Asia named him among India’s top five hottest creatives.
Puneet is also an avid stand-up comic and is active in the stand-up clubs of Bangalore, testing punchlines the same way he tests ideas, by seeing if they make people feel something.
