Young Spikes Design Competition

New for 2018, the Young Spikes Design competition will seek out and showcase emerging marketers who are pushing the boundaries of creative-led approaches. The competition is open for entries from 11 to 27 July when teams of two will compete to design an original creative campaign idea using HP's wealth of print solutions in response to a brief.

How does it work?

The Young Spikes Design Competition will challenge teams of two to create a campaign idea using HP print solutions in response to the competition brief which will be released at the live client brief on 11 July and thereafter, on this page.

The submissions will be judged by an expert jury to determine the shortlisted teams from Round 1. At least 3 shortlisted teams will compete in Round 2, a live competition taking place at the Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity in Singapore between 26-28 September. There are no fees associated with participating in the Young Spikes Design Competition.

The prizes

Shortlisted teams receive Young Spikes Creative festival passes worth SGD660 each.

Travel and accommodation will be provided for shortlisted teams based outside of Singapore (at the discretion of the competition organisers).

The Rules for Entering

Competitors must be aged 30 years or under (born on or after 28 September 1987) and employed in the advertising or communications business, in a skill discipline relevant to the competition.

Please ensure there are no copyright issues regarding the images used in your entry.

Each entrant is only allowed to submit ONE entry as part of ONE team. Entrants should not form more than one team to submit multiple entries or risk disqualification.

Team members have to be employed in one of the following locations : Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan.

Please note

  • All work created as part of the competition remains the property of Spikes Asia and HP.
  • The ideas can be used by Spikes Asia and HP as part of their advertising.
  • Works submitted in Round 1 will be judged by the Jury in August. Shortlisted teams for Round 1 will be announced before the end of August and the winner will be announced on 28 September 2018 at the Spikes Asia Awards.
  • Ensure that your entry and materials are finalized before submission. Requests to make edits to or withdraw your entry will not be allowed. An administrative fee will be charged to the entrant under special circumstances.
