The Tiger Beer Young Spikes Design Competition is an exciting challenge that takes place during the Spikes Asia Festival, giving participants the chance to gain recognition within the industry and make their mark across Asia Pacific.
Interested candidates must form a team consisting of 2 members and fill in the application form before midnight SGT, Friday 6 September 2019. The applications will be reviewed by Spikes Asia and Tiger Beer to shortlist 5 teams who will compete at Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity.
Each shortlisted team must produce a conceptual #RareStripes idea that answers the competition brief. This could be a design, product, experiential, or creative communications idea that can be produced to spread awareness about the Saving Wild Tigers programme.
The winner will then get an opportunity to collaborate with Tiger Beer and have their eventual concept brought to life and sold commercially as a part of the Tiger Beer #RareStripes collection.
Both competitors in the team must be aged 30 years or under (born on or after 28 September 1988). Art Directors, Designers, Copywriters or anyone passionate about creative ideas — and in bringing them to life — are encouraged to apply.
Please contact Ryhn Lee at RyhnL@spikes.asia if you have any questions.
In Round 1, 5 shortlisted teams will receive Young Spikes Competition passes worth SGD680 each to attend and compete at Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity 2019. Shortlisted teams based outside of Singapore will also receive sponsored air travel and accommodation during the festival.
In Round 2, a panel of expert judges will review each shortlisted team’s design and select the winning team, who will be awarded Gold medals at the Spikes Asia Awards Ceremony. The winning team will also receive full delegate passes to Spikes Asia 2020.
Tiger Beer will also collaborate with the winning team to bring the idea to life as part of the Tiger Beer’s #RareStripes programme after the festival.
Saving Wild Tigers is an initiative by Tiger Beer to spread the awareness of the conservation efforts towards saving the 3,890 tigers left in the wild — magnificent beings that embody the very spirit of the brand — and to double their population to 6,000 by 2022.
The problem is, wild tiger conservation is not seen as a pressing matter that requires urgent action in most parts of the world. How do we gain their attention, and spark action to save our tigers?
The #RareStripes programme is a range of wearables pioneered by Tiger Beer in collaboration with up and coming global creatives from diverse genres. Together, they drive awareness and rally support towards Tiger Beer’s global CSR program, Saving Wild Tigers. All sales proceeds go towards supporting and funding Wild Tiger conservation programs around the world.
The brief will be shared with the shortlisted teams a week before the festival, and will culminate in a live judging session at the festival.
Teams need to fill in the application form and submit it before midnight Singapore time, Friday 6 September 2019. The applications will be reviewed by Spikes Asia and Tiger Beer to shortlist 5 teams to compete at the Festival from 25 to 27 September 2019.
