The Brief

The Young Spikes Integrated Competition 2021 brief has been created in partnership with Conservation International:

Three billion people rely on fish for their primary source of animal protein, but we are overfishing about half of all fisheries in the world. Climate change is causing oceans to heat up and acidify, shifting fish populations. This directly impacts the livelihoods of fishing communities when the source of their income shifts to another region.

We love our seafood – but how can we ensure that it continues to be featured in our dishes for many years to come?

How the competition works

In Round 1, each team must produce a 5-slide PDF presentation which shows:

  • A clear strategy on the brand campaign
  • Examples/visuals of the campaign activations (both digital and offline)
  • A written submission

Based on the materials received from Round 1, the judges will score each entry and the top scoring teams will be shortlisted to compete in the finals in January 2021.

In November 2020, each shortlisted team will be invited to a virtual review session with one of the judges before they start working on their final submission.

The eventual Gold, Silver and Bronze winning teams will be announced in February 2021 along with the Spikes Asia and Tangrams Awards winners.

The Prize

A panel of expert judges will review each entry and select the winners, who will be awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. The Gold winning team will also receive delegate passes to the next Spikes Asia Festival and an exclusive winners interview with Campaign Asia.
